Book
How many of you have ever been obsessed with a book?
Have you read that book many times?
Do you think about this book on and off in your head throughout your day to day life?
Do you start to feel sick to your stomach when in Geo A one day and you can't read it?
If you answered yes you most of these questions, you have probably read The Hunger Games. (Or some other book of equal awesomeness :) )
I JUST CANNOT GET THIS BOOK OUT OF MY HEAD!!!
I am passionate by nature as a person, and obsessive by nature as a teen and this book is just the stuff! I really cannot recommend it more highly. I have read it at least four times and it never gets old. It takes place in the future North America, now called Panam, which is ruled, basically in a dictatorship by the Capitol. Every year 24 children from age 12-18 are randomly selected, thrown into a specially designed arena (could be woods, or dessert...) and have to fight to the death till there is one victor left. All broadcast live for the nations entertainment. (there is a reason for this which I don't feel like going into cuz I have to write an essay on the Catcher in the Rye...) It follows Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old from the poorest district on her quest to keep herself, and the people she cares about alive. YAY! Read it. I will not say more because I don't want to spoil it.
Oh, nothing gets me excited like a middle school series book.
But actually, it is the most addictive thing I have ever read.
Love!

Where the wild things are. NOT IN MY HOUSE!
So where the wind things are is very popular now in many people with my style. BUT I would just like to come clean with something. Being an artist and having a love of drawings, my mother naturally tried to read me Where the Wild Things Are when I was little. I thought it was terrifying, and never wanted to see the scary monsters ever again. Tears flowed. Now that I am older I do like the drawings but I think it's funny how something so loved by children and adults today could be so hated by one little pacifier-addicted girl.

Black and White milkshake (danger: mega post)
Right before Christmas I took a roll of black and white film and since I do not have a dark room at my disposal (yet... my basement bathroom has never looked so good...) I have to get the pictures developed at this place and it took them, like years to do it. Oh well. It was worth the wait. Here you go, I will try to give little explanations of them since some of the best ones are either a.) blurry or b.) would only make sense to me.
My mom's reflection on the train. She looked really weary
(in picture up and picture down).
Near time square
My sister and her friend. I do like the blurriness of this one.
Time Square. I just liked the Will Ferrell thing. (I am not a tourist at all...)
Grand Central Station. It was so busy that day and I love the slight blurriness
because everyone is in such a hurry.
So I'm gonna go deep on you for this photo. The cell tour is
obviously the center of the photo but if you look closely
you will also see an american flag and the moon, which clearly are
in the background. This view just struck me and I had to save it.
My friend's adorable dog!
Another, nature technology thingy.

Abandoned earth mover
The house across t he street from me is getting torn down and is
completely empty except... the lace curtains! Had to take a picture.

My take on Tati's water photo. ("my take" as in I copied her)

Hope you liked!

Buttons
My mom said I could use any of her vintage buttons (she will be running out soon) so I decided to sew them on this bag I got that just seemed a little too plain. (I also added some on a shirt I got from Anthropologie but I will add a picture later) Sorry the lighting in these pictures isn't better, by the time I get home from swimming the sun has set :( But the pretty thing is I get to watch it through the big glass doors that have the perfect view. It was so beautiful today: blood red. Enjoy!

So, as January begins, I can't seem to get my head out of winterbreak so a lot of my assignment book has been taken over by doodles. Who could have possibly done that?? But it looks so much better than the normal take so just reminding you that art can be made (even on the same page as homework!) OOH! Here;s an idea: Scan (or photograph) the best doodle you've made on a homework assignment, in a book, on a desk... Just send me a picture and I will post all of them:)
ok byee!
